Retro SciFi Pulp Poses

Very late with these, and so far only M4 and V4. I do intend to convert them to other figures, but it could be a while. (Feel free to convert them yourself, if so inclined, rather than waiting for my tardy arse to get them done.)

Download here: Retro SciFi Pulp Poses for M4/V4

Let me know if there are any issues with the zip file. I did throw this together in a bit of a rush. I’ve kept Will waiting for far too long. 😛

A few previews, for references:

And to keep this post holiday-themed, a cornfield background image! I did have a chance to get this idea done. (I did NOT get a chance to play with the new DS shader, but I have two forum topics bookmarked, have read both PDF manuals, and will get to it soon.)

Click to view the full image (3000×3000) and then save. Commercial renders allowed.

The only freebie I used in that one is the wooden sign by Powerage, and commercial render use allowed per the readme file.

Happy Holidays!

I was going for a vintage 50s holiday card look. Here’s the stylized 50s V4 dial morph; you’ll need both Morphia and V4’s Morphs ++. There are two body versions: the first is shorter and broader through the chest (above) and the second is taller and thinner. Dial morph only, no textures, though I used the REC Toon Tones for Gen4.

A few places to haunt for holiday freebies:

Not free, but a pretty good bargain:

Mec4D’s Santa for Genesis. The TOU are more restrictive than most purchased content, but if you’re just messing around with stuff for yourself, it’s a nice and inexpensive Santa set. (There’s also a Dawn version, which I also own.) Fitting it to other shapes is hit-or-miss — the chest area folds can deform — but looks pretty good with a bit of extra effort and, if necessary, a little tweaking in postwork.

Her chest area required some postwork. 😛

And because I was in a holiday rendering mood, one more!

I wanted more gravity on the front part of the tree but will assume it just bounced up as the VW went over a bump in the road.

Oh, and I’ll have a few freebies over at Fantasy Attic for the HiveWire family.

Edited to add: A non-postworked preview of the 50s V4 stylized character, this time with the taller and thinner torso option:

Using the transfer morph feature in DS4 allows clothes to fit even the more extreme shapes to V4’s body. Adding mesh smoothing and subdivision to Morphia also improves the look of the figure. I forgot to mention that her eyeballs should be nudged forward a bit; I think I set the Z Translation dial to -0.10 for each.

Halloween textures for the Cooking Stage Dress

Usage: The Witchy Hat is okay for commercial use, but the Red Viper outfits cannot be used for any commercial purposes. So use the textures accordingly.

Required: Cooking Stage Dress A4, Gymnastics Wear A4, and the witchy Star Hat.

Info: A set of textures to turn the cooking stage dress into a Gothic Lolita witch outfit, with matching textures for the Witchy Hat and the tights and toe shoes from the Gymnastic Wear set.

The dress and tights are intended for Aiko 4, and so they’re a little tricky to fit to V4 or autofit to newer Genesis figures. When all else fails, hide body parts.

DAZ Studio files in dsa format in the Poser Runtime. If you prefer them in the DS content folder, move them where you’d like and delete the blank pz2 files.

Poser presets in mc6 format — they apply the textures, but since I’m still lost in the wilderness of Poser material settings, you’ll have to adjust the settings.

Please let me know if there are any problems with the zip file (which is on the large side.)

Happy New Year!

Hope you and yours have a fantastic 2016. 😀

So I failed to notice that Ali is now including Dawn fits for his hairs. Yay! I don’t mind refitting hair props, but it’s nice not to have to bother with it. Also, the above Dawn outfit is $1.88 over at RDNA. It says it’s for Poser only, but it works just fine in DAZ Studio. I spent the Renderosity 20% off $10+ coupon on DM’s Pretty Dawn 2 pose set. Not neglecting Dusk and Luna, as I also picked up Dusk’s Bomber Jacket and the new face shapes for Baby Luna.

At last! I scored one of the old Sky Commander outfits in FastGrab for 70% off. It’s the A3 one, and I gave it a test drive on Kimberly. The conversion wasn’t too bad, though increasing the smoothing iterations did some awful things to the jacket mesh, eek! Also, it squashed the jodhpur style of the pants. Rats…

Still working away on my girly-girl nerds, and I discovered there are lots of uses for the Rocky Hat from SAV’s Famous Hat Collection M4. Sorry, Mike; I’m stealing your hats for my girls…
